“real wine, real people, real character”

Rob Dolan Wines is a family owned winery situated at the gateway of the Yarra Valley, just 30 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD in Victoria, Australia. Enjoy a behind the scenes tour of our winery with your own dedicated wine host. View the Crow’s Nest (Stone and Crow Cheese Maturation Room) before sitting down to a private tasting in our barrel room.

Sit back and relax at a private table on our deck or in our gardens with your own dedicated wine host and enjoy four wine tastings from our True Colours range paired with four Stone and Crow cheeses plus a personal selection from Rob & Jack, chosen each week based on the ripest cheeses and the best wine to match.

The Experience

We are fortunate to share space in our winery with the Stone and Crow Cheese Company “Crow’s Nest”. Stone and Crow were founded by Jack Holmon, head cheesemaker at the Yarra Valley Dairy. Jack has over 20 years’ experience making cheese in Canada, Italy, France and Australia. Ever the innovator he creates his own styles without boundaries and sees the brand as a vehicle to move the Australian cheese scene forward.

We welcome you to enjoy our unique cheese and wine experience at a private table on our deck or in our gardens with your own dedicated wine host. Start with our Black Label Blanc de Blanc followed by a cheese and wine flight which includes two whites and two reds from our premium White Label range perfectly paired with four cheeses from Stone and Crow.

Rob has been making wine in the Yarra Valley for over 30 years! He previously set up iconic brands such as Punt Road and Sticks – Sticks being his nick name from his days as a tall and skinny ruckman for Port Adelaide Football Club – but don’t hold that against him!

Rob’s winemaking philosophy is to make drinkable fruit driven wines that appeal to the wider consumer market. His team of experienced dynamic winemakers ensure only the best parcels of fruit are used to highlight the Yarra Valley region.

The Dog Squad - Hermes, Billie, Merlo + Archie

The Wine Dogs

Wine dogs may be a bit of a cliché but that certainly hasn’t stopped us having so many! We just love what they add to the character and feel of the winery.

Wine dogs may be a bit of a cliché but that certainly hasn’t stopped us having so many! We just love what they add to the character and feel of the winery. In fact so much so our wine dogs have their own profiles and blogs on our website. Most of them are full timers and have free run of the office, cellar door, winery and vineyard. You can usually spot Rob’s dog Merlo taking a dip in the fountain or Tim’s dog Billie joining in a footy game in the winery. Hermes is notorious for guarding the Laboratory (which his mum Peta manages) and Archie the Kelpie pup still has his training wheels on and stays with his mum in the office most of the time (Sales and Marketing Manager, Kate).
